Born in Lynchburg, Va., Linda attended Virginia Tech where she received her Ocean Engineering degree. After graduating, she worked for a Naval architecture company on projects involving Navy cruisers and destroyers for four years.

She then established her sales and marketing expertise for two years but found herself more interested in results than the simple 9-to-5 daily grind.

So she switched gears and began work with a contracting company, visiting homes of those interested in a roof or deck purchase. But this experience was short-lived as the company went belly-up. It’s here that she realized opportunity comes at odd times. Looking for work, she walked into a Home Depot for a part-time job while she figured out her next move. Learning of her engineering degree and experience with contracting, the store manager suggested she become a “kitchen designer.” Not sure what that would involve, she gladly accepted – and fell in love with it.

She had the best of both worlds: working with individuals on their personal kitchen plans while delving into the “geeky” side of design, playing with the raw numbers and equations that are the foundation for any such project. After three years at Home Depot and building valuable relationships with top contractors in the business, she has acquired a keen eye for kitchen design. As a result, Linda created NTime Design in 2004 and has not looked back. Working with her tight-knit group of vendors and contractors, she now offers nearly 10 lines of cabinetry to fit a variety of budgets and tastes.
